Check out my photos from the Rochester Mayo High School hockey team season at MN Hockey Hub, the Official Site of Minnesota High School Hockey where they’ve devoted an an entire gallery to Mayo pics. Unfortunately, they called the set Rochester Mayo vs. Austin – it includes images from five different games – and they didn’t use submitted captions (which they had requested) so you have to guess who’s who.
As the hated rivals taunted the good guys with their chant of “SEE-zun-ZOH-ver” at the Rochester (Minn.) Rec Center Saturday afternoon, the clock wound down on a solid season for the Rochester Mayo High School hockey team. The top seed in Section 1AA, the Spartans came out flat and stayed that way for most of a heart-breaking 7-3 loss. The team’s seniors fell two wins short of their dream of qualifying for the state tournament next week in St. Paul.
But wait! There’s more …
The Spartans crawled out of an early 2-0 hole to forge a 2-2 tie in their regular season finale against arch-rival Century Feb. 19 at Graham Arena. With the tie, Century captures a share of the Big 9 championship. The rivals will likely meet again in the section playoffs.

I got very few decent shots at this one – I think because it was fast and very back and forth. You be the judge.
But wait! There’s more …
Mayo continued its Big 9 win streak with a dominating win over Albert Lea on Valentine’s Day at Graham Arena in Rochester, Minn.

I shot up (camera, people!) the Mayo vs. Austin high school hockey game at Graham Arena in Rochester on Feb. 5. Here are a few select (read: passable, semi in focus, not terrible, etc.) shots.
Mayo won, 13-1.
